This is a highly significant collection, comprised of more than 6,000 objects. Eighteen hundred examples of glass, crystal and china not only reveal the development of American glass and, more broadly, American history, but also have provided material for symposia for 50 years. Two thousand costumes and accessories, 1,000 dolls and toys, quilts and coverlets (which tell a story of pioneer resourcefulness, work and play), bring traditional and non-traditional students here. Recent acquisitions include a collection of distinctive pottery made in Benton, Arkansas using a technique that created a swirled pattern of natural clays.
